Schon auf den ersten Blick vermitteln die Werke von Franziska Schmalzl Lebensfreude und Verspieltheit. Die Helden ihrer "Zaubergärten" sind farbenprächtige Pflanzen, freche Früchtchen, Insekten und Vögel, denen sie gerne eine Stimme verleiht. Dabei zeigt die Künstlerin viel Sinn für Humor: Über ins Bild integrierte Texte und amüsante Bildertitel erzählt sie kleine Geschichten, die von der großen Lust am Leben erzählen.
